Turn dead-end empty states into on-ramps by wiring the existing
EmptyState actionLabel/onAction params to real next actions.
Screens wired (real, existing actions):
- Skills (installed): Browse skill hub -> setViewMode(HUB)
- Skills (hub): Retry search -> searchHub(hubQuery)
- Cron Jobs: Create your first job -> openNewJobDialog()
- MCP servers: Add a server -> toggleAddForm() (literal moved to strings.xml)
- Webhooks: Create subscription -> showCreateDialog() (literal moved to strings.xml)
- Channels: Connect a Telegram channel -> startTelegramOnboarding()
- Model: Configure model -> navigateTo(SettingsConnection)
- Sessions (history): Start a new chat -> navigateTo(ChatScreen)
- Analytics: Explore Skills or Cron jobs -> navigateTo(SkillsScreen)
- Keys (no match): Clear search -> query = ""
All new labels use strings.xml (empty_action_* / screenname_empty_*).
Deviations from issue (documented honestly):
- Toolsets, Profiles, Plugins keep Refresh. No in-app create path exists
(toolsets are server-defined toggles; profiles/plugins have no create
dialog wired in UI). Refresh is the correct recovery there, not a fake
'create' CTA. Flagged for follow-up if create flows get built.
- Skills: edited the real private InstalledSkillsView in SkillsScreen.kt;
the duplicate internal one in InstalledSkillsTab.kt is dead code.
Verified: ktlintCheck clean, assembleDebug green.

* refactor(ui): extract SkillsStep to components package
Move the 252-LOC SkillsStep composable out of ProfilesScreen.kt into
ui/profiles/components/SkillsStep.kt. Body is verbatim (behavior-preserving);
only package + imports changed. Parent now imports and calls it directly.
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
Note: sibling screens resolve Modifier.weight() without an explicit import;
matching that convention (no spurious weight import) to avoid the
internal RowColumnParentData.weight shadowing error.
* refactor(ui): extract ProfileBuilderView cluster to components package
Move the Profile Builder wizard (ProfileBuilderView + validateProfileName +
IdentityStep/ModelStep/McpStep/AddMcpDialog/ReviewStep) out of ProfilesScreen.kt
into ui/profiles/components/ProfileBuilderView.kt. Body is verbatim
(behavior-preserving); only package + imports changed.
Notable wiring required:
- validateProfileName kept as internal fun: it is also used by the parent's
clone dialog, so both the screen and the builder share it via import.
- ProfilesUiState/ProfilesViewModel imported from the ui.profiles package.
- SkillsStep call resolves to the already-extracted sibling file (same package).
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
* refactor(ui): extract MoaConfigDialog cluster to components package
Move the Mixture-of-Agents config dialog (MoaConfigDialog + MoaConfigEditor +
MoaSlotPicker + MoaPickerTarget sealed class) out of ModelScreen.kt into
ui/model/components/MoaConfigDialog.kt. Body is verbatim (behavior-preserving);
only package + imports + entry visibility changed.
- Entry MoaConfigDialog is internal (called by ModelScreen root); the editor,
slot picker, and sealed class stay private to the new file.
- The @Composable annotation preceding the declaration is moved with the
cluster (earlier attempt left it orphaned, causing a duplicate-annotation
compile error at the next declaration).
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
* refactor(ui): extract PlatformCard + TelegramOnboardingDialog clusters
Move two self-contained clusters out of ChannelsScreen.kt:
- PlatformCard.kt: StateStyle (private data class) + platformStateStyle +
StateBadge + PlatformCard. Entry PlatformCard is internal (called by
ChannelsScreen root); StateStyle/StateBadge/platformStateStyle stay private.
- TelegramOnboardingDialog.kt: TelegramOnboardingDialog. Entry internal.
Wiring required:
- ConfigureForm kept in ChannelsScreen as internal (shared by PlatformCard
and the screen root) and imported into PlatformCard.kt.
- ChannelsUiState/OnboardingPhase imported from the ui.channels package.
- formatTimestamp left in the screen (used by ConfigureForm).
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
* refactor(ui): extract SkillsScreen sub-composables to components package
Split the 914-line SkillsScreen.kt into the screen root plus 4 cohesive
component files under ui/skills/components/:
- SourceBadge.kt: shared SourceBadge (internal, used by both tabs)
- InstalledSkillsTab.kt: InstalledSkillsView + SkillCard + SkillPreviewDialog
- HubSkillsTab.kt: HubBrowseView + HubSkillCard
- SkillEditorDialog.kt: SkillEditorDialog
Wiring required:
- CATEGORY_ALL promoted private -> internal in SkillsScreen (shared by the
screen root and InstalledSkillsView) and imported where needed.
- SkillFilter / SkillsUiState imported from the ui.skills package.
- HubBrowseView now reads isHubSearching/hubResults/hubSearchError off its
SkillsUiState param (fields, not locals) - no behavior change.
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
* refactor(ui): extract SettingsScreen + SystemScreen sub-composables
SettingsScreen.kt (1238 -> ~340): move self-contained sections into
ui/settings/components/ - ConnectionSection (+TestResultCard/SaveIndicator/
TestConnectionButton), BehaviorSection, AppearanceSection (+ChatSection/
NavBarSection), AboutSection, ProfileEditorDialog (+DeleteProfileConfirmDialog).
Shared leaves SectionCard/InfoRow kept in the screen as internal and imported
by the extracted files.
SystemScreen.kt (1755 -> 1619): move CredentialEntryRow + HookCard into
ui/system/components/ (both internal). formatBytes/formatDuration helpers stay
in the screen (used by the root and remaining content).
Verified: ktlintCheck PASS, compileDebugKotlin PASS (local SDK).
* fix(#485): use LocalHermesStatusColors for PlatformCard state colors
Map platform connection-status badges to semantic LocalHermesStatusColors
slots (success/warning/error) + add neutral slot for not_configured/disabled.
Removes hardcoded hex (Color(0xFF...)) and MaterialTheme.colorScheme usage
flagged by Sourcery; neutral defaults to StatusGrey so existing theme
providers are untouched.
* feat(#369): rewrite channels tab with full backend integration
- Add state, error, gateway_running, description to model
- Add test endpoint to API service
- Rewrite ViewModel with toggle, restart, test actions
- Rewrite screen with state badges, restart banner, test button
- Fix string resources and E2E test
* fix(#417): add missing import and fix ButtonSize API
- Add MessagingPlatformTestResult import to HermesApiService.kt
- Replace ButtonDefaults.ButtonSize.SMALL with ButtonDefaults.SmallButtonSize (correct M3 API)
* fix(#417): mark platformStateStyle as @Composable, remove Button size param
- @Composable annotation needed for MaterialTheme.colorScheme access
- Button/OutlinedButton size parameter not available in project's M3 version
- ktlint removed unused ButtonDefaults import

* fix: implement in-memory token caching to avoid redundant prefs decryptions
Resolves#277
Previously, the `AuthManager.getToken()` method decrypted the entire
`EncryptedSharedPreferences` file on every call. Because this method is
used in the OkHttp interceptor on every HTTP/WS request, and frequently
during navigation, it introduced 10-30ms of redundant work per call.
This compounded to noticeable UI lag (e.g., during chat session switches).
This commit implements thread-safe in-memory caching for the auth token
inside `AuthManager`.
- Added a `@Volatile` `cachedToken` and `tokenInitialized` flag.
- Modified `getToken()` to return the cached value after initial evaluation,
using double-checked locking (`synchronized(this)`) to avoid race conditions.
- Updated `setToken()` and `setSelectedProfileId()` to correctly invalidate
or update the cache.
- Added comprehensive unit tests in `AuthManagerTest.kt` to verify caching
behavior and proper invalidation upon profile switches.

* Fix WebSocket events being silently dropped on buffer overflow
Increases the MutableSharedFlow `extraBufferCapacity` from 64 to 256
and changes the `onBufferOverflow` policy to `BufferOverflow.DROP_OLDEST`
in `HermesWsClient.kt`. This fixes an issue where the slow collection
(e.g., due to DB writes) caused the buffer to fill up and silently drop
incoming real-time WebSocket events.
By setting `DROP_OLDEST`, `tryEmit()` remains functional without
suspending, allowing real-time events to be retained and prioritized.
Fixes#275
* Fix ktlint formatting issues in HermesWsClient.kt
The formatting changes adhere to ktlint rules required by the CI pipeline:
- Removed a trailing comma in MutableSharedFlow initialization to avoid multiline expression wrapping errors.
- Sorted imports to be in lexicographical order.
These formatting changes fix the failing CI check.

* Fix: Prevent AuthManager state pollution on connection verification
Modified `ConnectViewModel.connect()` to construct a temporary OkHttpClient and Retrofit builder, isolated from the global `ApiClient` state. The connection verification is executed using this temporary service. Only upon a successful HTTP response does the system persist the configured `host`, `port`, and `token` to the global `AuthManager` and triggers an `ApiClient.rebuild()`. This resolves the issue where a failed connection attempt would overwrite active and verified profiles. Extracted `createTempService` factory to `ApiClient` for robustness and clean tests.

The Achievement, Kanban, and Channels screens were applying double
padding at the top because `HermesScaffold` already handles the container
padding internally. This change removes the redundant `paddingValues`
from the inner UI components on these screens.
Closes#253
- Extracted `safeLaunchLoad` inline extension function to `ViewModelExt.kt` to encapsulate API call success/failure handling logic and replaced usages across 18 viewmodels.
- Extracted `ToastHost` interface to standardize `clearToast()` behavior across all ViewModels displaying toasts.
- Extracted `ToastEffect` composable to `SharedComponents.kt` and applied it to 16 screens, reducing repetitive side effect code blocks.
Fixes#286
* fix(#220): implement edit soul and set model dialogs
* fix(#211): make UI more compact and information dense
* fix(#211): make navigation drawer sidebar more compact
* feat(#252): move settings item to end of navigation drawer
* feat(#250): add bottom navigation bar display mode settings
* feat(#225): add search bar filtering to remaining screens
* fix: make bottom navigation bar display modes more compact
* fix: resolve compilation error in KanbanScreen by referencing assignedTo
* feat: add search to achievements screen and top padding for icon-only navigation bar
* fix: adjust icon-only bottom bar height and remove padding
* fix(#249): remove unused PaddingValues imports in 6 screens

GET /api/messaging/platforms returns a JSON object with a platforms
array inside, but the app expected a bare array. Wraps the response
in a new MessagingPlatformResponse model.
- Adds MessagingPlatformResponse.kt wrapper model
- Updates HermesApiService.kt return type + adds profile query param
- Updates ChannelsViewModel.kt to unwrap .platforms
- Updates E2eIntegrationTest.kt mock to match new response shape
- HermesScaffold: added isRefreshing param, wraps content in PullToRefreshBox when onRefresh is set
- All 16 data screens: pass isRefreshing = state.isLoading
- Initial loading only shows full-screen LoadingState when data is empty (no spinner over existing content)
- AchievementsScreen already had the correct pattern, just needed isRefreshing param

- HermesScaffold: title now @Composable () -> Unit (M3-idiomatic)
- HermesScaffold: added modifier and snackbarHost parameters
- Updated all 18 callers from title="X" to title={Text("X")}
- ChatScreen: converted from raw Scaffold to HermesScaffold
- Removed unused Menu icon import (ktlint fix)
Complete UI/UX rewrite of hermes-mobile with Material You design system.
Phase 1: Color/Theme/Type/Shapes/Spacing/Motion tokens
Phase 2: HermesScaffold, StateViews (skeleton/empty/error), SearchBar, StatusBadge, ToggleRow
Phase 3: Bottom nav + drawer navigation with NavigationController
Phase 4: All 17 screens rewritten with HermesScaffold and Material You patterns
Closes PR #3.
